We are honored to announce that thanks to our camp families, Camp Horizons has been voted as a 2019 Best Summer Camp in the Shenandoah Region by Virginia Living Magazine. Being recognized as one of Virginia’s best overnight summer camps is an incredibly validating experience as we prepare for our 37th summer. Today we look back on 36 years of American Camp Association accreditation, fun, adventure, and growth. Camp Horizons began in 1983 as a life long dream come true for our Founder and Owner John Hall. Since Camp’s inception our goal has been to create a home away from home for our campers through a supportive community, as well as fun and challenging activities. Since 1983 Camp Horizons has developed into a 9-week program which is proud to host campers and staff from around the world. 
Our age specific programs meet our campers’ different needs with each program being structured to provide greater independence in activity choices and greater skill development as our campers progress through the programs. Beyond our traditional camp programs, Camp Horizons has expanded to offer a specialized Equestrian Camp and Leadership Camp, as well as off-site trips and horseback lessons. As we continue to evolve and enhance our programs we certainly have not forgotten where we started from and all the amazing people we’ve met along the way. Our passion for programming, appreciation of diversity, and belief in the value of camp has influenced every summer for the past 36 years. We are thrilled to enter our 37th summer as one of Virginia’s best and plan to provide only the best for our campers and families.
